Dreadful news and the manner of his death, I have so much respect for the way Gary was turning Wales into a winning team, restoring our pride again.

He was always someone who gave 100% as a player and manager and I am sure he would have become a legendary Welsh manager.

Respect to the Jacks for the applause today.

Rest In Peace Gary Speed

Shocking news. You don't know everything that goes on in people's personal lives, but something must have been going on in his mind or in his life for him to get to this place. I just can't believe it seemed that everything was going great for him. So so unfortunate.

Rest in peace speedo

Heard about this in work through a workmate, at first I thought it might be a mistake, seeing as he was on footie focus yesterday he seemed fine when watching it.

Gary Speed RIP. Deepest Condolences to his Family and Friends. I hope this does not come across as selfish, I honestly thought Wales under the guidance and leadership if Gary were starting to show the world, we were well and truly back on the footballing map and I now we will never now but I thought Gary was going to be the best manager we have ever had. I am still finding it hard to take in. ATB. Reeco

I still cant believe it. I am gutted, the man is one of the few that could be called a model professional. It's been on the news here in belgium too, just goes to show how well thought of he was, and not just with British people.

RIP Speedy

Message from our Scottish friends re Gary Speed

Postby corky » Sun Nov 27, 2011 7:55 pm

On behalf of the Association of Tartan Army Clubs and Scotland Fans, can I pass on our condolences and sympathies at the loss of not only your national manager, but from what we gather a real football gent and all round top bloke.
Gary did a fantastic job in such a short period of time with the Welsh team, and this tragedy is a huge loss to Welsh and International football.

Our thoughts are very much with his family at this time, and also with our friends, the Welsh Fans.

Best wishes from your friends in Scotland,
Tam Ferry

There's something not right here.

Here's a man living the dream and on the verge of bringing his beloved country back to the main stage of world football and he tops himself?

It's all wrong!

R.I.P Gary Speedo. You were one of the all time Welsh greats who gave their all. Through the 90s I thought he was going to go on forever wearing that Welsh shirt, and he truly did go all the way with the amount of caps he earnt.

I have to say from my point of view that Suicide is a self centred act, but who knows what drives a man or a woman to the point that they are prepared to end it all and leave behind a beautiful wife and 2 beautiful children.. He has seemed to be in good health and mind accoarding to his best bud Robbie Savage who was golfing with him the other day, and Dean Saunders and Ryan Giggs both said in the last week he seemed to be fine. Football focus was on only hours ago and he also seemed to be in good spirts.

I can only " presume " 3 things. Depression, Marital problems, Financial problems. Depression can go unoticed in some people for years if they keep it to themselves. He may have just been given the blow that his wife cheated on him, or he cheated on his wife and couldn't live with himself. Financial problems seems unlikely given the amount of money he would of earnt through his footballing career.

Eitherway a family is now without a husband and father just before xmas and this is a saddness I could never begin to imagine the pain of.

The reasons behind Gary Speedos death will come out over the next coming weeks i'm sure, but in the mean time we should remember the footballing legend and manager who will now sadly never get to show us how far he could of taken the Welsh team. We all know he was taking us in the right direction with results lately shooting us up the Fifa rankings, and now the whole Welsh nation is left feeling shocked and in limbo.

R.I.P Gary you Welsh footballing legend, I will miss you so much as will my friends and family.. My heart truly goes out to your wife and children at this sad time. :ayatollah:
