Wimbledon 2014

Mon Jun 23, 2014 6:32 am

Okay same as the French, laying off is key as we want to be safe and not reckless. Steady gains beats big wins and big losses every time.

Ok..... First round or two as I've said before is more about getting a feel for the players and how they are adapting to grass. If we can make a profit while learning then all the better. One of our guys has PMed me saying that he has a betting bank of £200 so we will work to that and each bet represents £20 (10% of bank) and adjust that every day as the betting bank changes. Profits wont be as big as the french thread a result as we were using £100 stakes - but a profit is a profit.

1) Vania King to beat Yvonne Meusberger. Back at 1.82 lay off at 1.5.
2) Svetlana Kuznetsova to beat Michelle Lachar de brito. Back ay 1.45 lay off at 1.2
3) Madison Keys to beat Monica Puig. Back at 1.4 lay off at 1.15
4) Lauren davis to beat Alyssa Kleybanova. Back at 1.4 lay off at 1.15
5) Klara koukalova (formerly zakapolova) to beat Ashley Townsend. Back at 1.45 lay off at 1.2.
6) Jelena Jankovic to beat kaia Kanepi. Back at 1.3 lay off at 1.1.
7) Casey Dellacqua to beat anett kontaveit. Back at 1.4 lay off at 1.2
8) Alexandr Dolgopolov to beat Sam Groth at 1.45 lay off at 1.2
9) Denis Istomin to beat dimitri Tursanov at 1.4 lay off at 1.2

I will just say that im not actually backing these tips (but the tips are exactly what I would do myself). Im out of bookmakers in australia and betfair doesnt work the same in this country - no in play.

So i will be replying on you guys to tell me if someone hits their lay off point because i wont have a clue.

Re: Wimbledon 2014

And also, make sure you click the option which allows your lay off bets to stay up after they suspend it for a second at the start of play and turn in it play.

I cant remember how to do it off the top of my head. But if not then you will have to manually place them after the market un-suspends or ring betfair and ask. Because i just remembered all unmatched bets gets cleared as it turns in play.

There is an option that says "At in Play" then gives you two options one being cancel the other being keep. I gather we change it to keep.

No don't think so. I'm new to this, never understood lay betting but been reading your other post and thought I'd give it a go as like Tennis and gives a new dimension to it. Been following what you've tipped and just shows lost against Jankovic. I think I'm doing it right, I am up though from the others so far - Cheers Roathie!

We have had a pretty rough round 2 and looks like the first loss in a round spanning 3 tournaments, unfortunately it is a pretty big one. We have had a few losers that never got in front to hit our lay off points.

Dolgopolov wins £8 profit
Konjuh wins £12 profit
Kirilenko loses £20 lost
Vandeweghe loses i was told lay off point hit but will need confirmation from you guys.
Istomin wins £3 profit
Raonic wins £4 profit
Gasguet loses but lay off point hit, no loss.
Kerber beats watson £4 profit
Vekic loses £20 loss
Giorgi loses £20 loss.

Thanks for that.

Just bencic left in the round. If she can win then the next round will simply be an aim to get our £15 back to our starting point and then by that time we should have a good handle on everyone to push for some profit.

Murray hasn't been the same since his back surgery anyone think he can win it again?

I thought no at start but he's looking sharp so far

Nadal although excellent this is his weakest surface for me
Federer probably past his best now for some time
Djokovic ain't all that on grass either and Murray schooled him last season

Not many others u feel that could win it either

Perhaps he can retain it djokovic the main threat for me
