Can someone explain this to me? It says the result is 'P' and the returns is £3.50. That's confused me as the odds are 10/1 and I put £1 on EW, making the stake £2. Surely it should have returned a lot more than that

The odds quarter as you do each way, because you have more chance.

I could be wrong as well though, don't know what the P's about.

I think it means your horse was just placed. Ie finish in first 3.

Looks like it was placed mate, when a horse is placed it's pays a 1/4 or 1/5 of the odds.

With your horse it's been placed at a 1/4 of the odds, a quarter of 10/1 is 5/2, a quid on 5/2 pays £3.50.

Hope that sort of clears things up.

I'd imagine the P is just short for placed, never seen it before personally but it seems to add up with his returns.
