Cardiff City's new recruit Lee Tomlin has laid out his aims for the 2017-18 season, adding that his link-up with star striker Kenneth Zohore could be key in the Bluebirds' promotion bid.

The No.10 joined Cardiff from Severnside rivals Bristol City earlier this month and got his first run-out for his new club in the 1-0 friendly win over League One outfit Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.
The former Bournemouth, Middlesbrough and Peterborough man netted seven times in 42 appearances for the Robins last term.
And the Cardiff man has revealed that he aims to hit double figures with the Bluebirds, adding that he hopes to get even more assists, with forward Zohore likely to be the beneficiary of his efforts.
"I'd say I try to get 10 goals a season but I also like to try and get 10 to 15 assists. That's what my aim is," said Tomlin.
"Mostly every striker I've played with has got 15 or 20 goals a season, so hopefully Ken can get that this season.
"Before the game (against Plymouth) I spoke to him telling him what runs to do and said even if I'm not looking at him just keep making the runs because I can do that pass without looking.
"I think it was a free-kick on the halfway line, the lad grabbed my foot so I couldn't play it but I got out of it and Ken made the run.
"The gaffer said he wanted that sort of player (a No.10). I seem to always do something against Cardiff but now hopefully I can do it every week for them."
Tomlin admits he followed the Bluebirds' progress last term, and believes the Bluebirds are more than capable of challenging for promotion under the Yorkshireman in the 2017-18 campaign.
"The lads are unbelievable, I knew loads of them before I came here," added the 28-year-old.
"This is a massive club and my ambition is to get back into the Premier League. When I spoke to the gaffer it was an easy decision (moving from Bristol City).
"I had to make the right move this time, especially speaking to the gaffer and watching them how they did last season.
"For me this season we've got to be aiming for the play-offs. The squad we've got and the quality, there's no reason why not just because other clubs are spending a lot of money. It means nothing. Hopefully this season can be the one.
"His record speaks for itself. He's an unbelievable manager and he knows what he's doing so everyone trusts him and believes in him."

Can't wait to see him play, every time I've seen him live I've been well impressed.

An enhancement in quality in midfield compared to previous seasons however he needs careful management. He might have met his saviour in Warnock!

I have always been impressed by him. Watching him yesterday at Plymouth he kept making passes that most players wouldn't see and something we have missed for many years. He is a luxury player though. Having said that he covered a lot of ground yesterday. It will be really interesting to see which side of Tomlin we see this year.

It's looking good but from what I've heard of the guy he needs to bring more consistency to his game.

He looked good second half at Plymouth.
