Not great away support by Birmingham

400 Birmingham fans away at Boro last night, (even if they are 4th from bottom).

I'm a Birmingham fan from South Wales and go to all home games plus the majority of away games. Do you really think 400 away at Boro is poor support when it's a midweek game, we are at the bottom, it's a long away trip and we've got another away game at Sheff Utd today all tickets sold (2500) even though it's on live on Sky. I'd love to see now many Cardiff would take away in the same circumstances! 270 at Barnsley was it? I go to the odd game at Cardiff and think home and away support is pretty poor considering their league position. Brum's away support is probably in top 5 in championship even though we have lost 7 and drawn 1 of first 8 away games

Birmingham is central to every where and I lived/worked near Cheltenham once and was so shocked how easy it was for me to go to every home and away game to watch Cardiff City. Going up North from Birmingham is a doddle compared to going from Cardiff.

But I am honest to admit as I have been to Boro 7 times with Cardiff, if Cardiff were near the bottom and had been going say to Rotherham on a Tuesday night, we would of barely had 150 away fans, so compared to us its brilliant.
10 years ago we would have tripled our away support, but we have lost it under the Vincent Tan years.

I will also admit our away support is awful nowadays.
Yours is far far better, but you are Central as I just said, but you would still take more than us as we have lost many diehard fans thanks to Tan/Rebrand.

Prob because you've been taking massive away support this season everywhere, I was expecting more than 400 up there :thumbright:

Your away support over the years has increased significantly, whilst ours has gone the other way sadly

To be fair, its good away support for a Tuesday night :thumbright:

I agree Birmingham is in a better position to travel than Cardiff, doesn't apply to me though as it's 125 miles just to get to Birmingham! Our home and away support is on the increase even though we are poor so far. Hope to do Cardiff a big favour at Sheff Utd tonight! Surprised how Cardiff away support has gone down over last few years.

Good luck, your much to big a club to go down :thumbright: :thumbright:

Our support was lost due to the Rebrand and Authorities going over the top on our fans.

Thanks, bigger clubs than us have gone down before. Unless our away form picks up we are in for a struggle this season. Hope we can do Cardiff a big favour later on.

By the way if you look on your photo of our away support, on the bottom right you will just about see a Red Dragon flag with South Wales Blues on it!

Did Cardiff a favour last night, shame we couldn't have held on for a win. Over to you to win at Forest today. Good luck with the team you support in Spain today

Yes good result over all :thumbright:

Cheers at Atletico Baleares now, losing as usual.

Don't forget a lot of our support comes from outside cardiff so a lot of our fans travel quiet a few miles for home games and away games it's always extra miles for us

Shame you didn't win both games today but at least the Bluebirds won for you. Good luck for the rest of the season for both clubs. I know what it's like being at the bottom at the moment!

Thanks. Maybe if you are back in Cardiff for the Birmingham game next year I will say hello. We normally go in Canton Rugby Club for a few beers before and after the game! Had about 7 or 8 pints in there before the game about 3 years ago when we lost 2 0 and spent most of the match going to the toilet. I missed the Cardiff second goal which was a penalty.

Yeah think we will be OK, just. Think in the end it will be Bolton, Burton and Millwall to go. Although we've pretty awful away, we've had a tough run of away games so far including Boro, Sheff Utd, Derby, Leeds,Norwich, Ipswich. Also our home form is also pretty decent so far with wins over Sheff Wed, Bristol City, Forest and sorry to mention it, Cardiff.
