With the amount of people who use the Vale I don't think it would be long after Monday before the news came out

You should have told us about Maynard, the season tickets going on sale and that fans can upgrade for the Brighton game, it would have saved me a few minutes.

carlccfc wrote:Malky Mackay will be bringing players in this month; speaking with one of my sources today he said that Malky will definitely be bringing in at least two but likely to be three. But it was stressed to me that a little patience is required as he may have to wait and play the game to get his targets.
I am told that a defender is likely to be the first in and the club hope to have a deal done this week.
In a separate phone call I had later on today I learned that Cardiff City have contacted Huddersfield about their full back Jack Hunt, it is understood that Huddersfield want to keep hold of their young star, at least for this season and City may have to wait until the summer and face competition for his signature, I hope the club test Huddersfield’s resolve with a bid this month.
I think many will be pleased to know that the club have also made moves for Charlie Austin but like the Jay Rodriguez situation last January they staved off bids from Southampton until the summer when the Saints matched their valuation of the striker.
Marvin Sordell is the name that probably every City is aware of that we are also interested in and despite the recent comments of Dougie Freedman, don’t be surprised to hear of an official bid being tabled very soon.
For me the biggest news today is that Nicky Maynard will be resuming training at the Vale next Monday. Maynard was obviously feeling very low before Christmas and no date had been set for his return to training, but last Friday he was given the go-ahead, by the medical team, to start working out in the gym and that he can also start running as of next Monday.
Massive news and a huge boost to the player and to Malky, how long will the rehabilitation take is the next question but if all goes well I suspect that Maynard could be featuring again in City shirt by the end of February/beginning of March.
Regarding training today there were none of the ‘first teamers’ training but Tommy Smith will take part in an arranged game against Exeter this week and Smith revealed today that he will be fit to be included in the match day squad on Saturday.
Rob Earnshaw took part in the training today.
As you may have read in the last couple of hours, Cardiff City council have granted Cardiff City Football Club the go-ahead on the new £10million training complex.
Season tickets will go on sale next month to the 20,000 current season ticket holders and another 1,000 season tickets will be put on sale, so we will have a maximum of 21,000 season ticket holders next season.
For the Brighton home game on Tuesday February 19th, Ambassadors will be given the opportunity to upgrade to the BMW Sytner lounge for just £10. I understand the club can offer this deal up to four times a season without breaking their contract with Premier seat holders.
I asked today for confirmation from a club official that the Bluebird would remain on the badge next season and would the fans still be choosing the badge that the club will have next season, randomly selected fans will be given input into how the badge will look but I was not given the guarantee that the Bluebird will remain. That of course does not mean it will be removed either in fairness but I appreciate that the club official would not and could not put his neck on the line one way or another as it will simply be the decision of man and one man alone whether the Bluebird remains and that of course is Vincent Tan.
If Cardiff City get promoted this season then part of the Ninian Stand and Family Stand will be taken to become a larger away section, work will start immediately on creating a bigger away section once we are promoted, a minimum of 500 seats will be increased in the away section as a result.
Another issue that supporters complain about is the £5 per ticket the club charge to swap your season ticket card to an actual match ticket, the reason this charge was introduced was to act as a deterrent in some ways, as the club have had literally hundreds of supporters going into the ticket office on a match day saying they had forgotten their season ticket card and were asking for a replacement ticket, on match alone there were nearly 700 fans who went in the ticket office to request a ticket.
