POLL: What shall we do, open the board or keep it as it is?

What do you all think, keep it as it is so you have to register to view or shall we open it up now that we have 1000 members?

The majority of members would probably rather keep it as it is, whereas there's probably plenty of people that want to read but haven't registered yet.

What are your thoughts?

I think its quite good the way it is.

Opening it up to the "lurkers" will probably create a strain on bandwidth.

And if people want to read its a quick 2 minute sign up job to register.

One of the reasons i joined a MB like this is because it provides the relative security of having to apply to read the threads..

TBH if they want to read they can register, there is no hardship in that unless they got summit to hide, we are all open on here like a big happy family

I say keep it as it is. If it ain't broken don't fix it. You're liberal towards who you let register anyway so there's no excuse for not registering. It encourages posting from all sorts of people as well which increases varied discussion which is definitely a good thing.

I agree with you, but I have had a number of members ask me to open it up and others have said keep it as it is,so the best way to decide is let the members vote over the next few days.

I'm not bothered either way, but you do create an interest if someone sees something they want to comment on but can't, so they can sign up. If you see what I mean

i voted to keep things as they are, but i did think about voting to open it up because i would like to have a look whats going on when i'm in work on my mobile, the way things are at the moment i can only look at the mike morris board on my mobile
