Under the knife

I had a knee op a couple of weeks ago, the day of city V palace away, live on TV
I had general aneshtetic and as they were putting me under the conversation went like this
Anesthetist No 1: "alright"
Me: "yep"
Anesthetist No 1: "well at least you're early on the list"
Me: "yeah, bit of luck I'll get to watch Cardiff on tv at 12:00"
Anesthetist No1: "Oh"
Me: "oh, what do you mean, oh?"
Anesthetist No2: "football fan are you"
Me: "yeah, are you"
Anesthetist 1 (as he inserts a a needle into my hand) "I'm from Swansea"
Me: "oh f**k no"
Anesthetist No 2 " and I'm from the valleys so I'm a Swansea fan too"
Me: "I know loads of people from the valleys and they're not jacks"
Anesthetist No 1 "this might hurt"
Anesthetist No 2 "does it feel like you've had a drink"
Me: "yeah, I feel dizzy
Anesthetist No 1 "We're gonna beat you next week"
Me"f**k you, you jack bastazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
and then I woke up in my hospital bed, post op.
But it still puzzles me -
anesthetist No1 was a jack, no doubt
anesthetist No 2 was from the valleys so felt he had to support Swansea
Why, if he's from the valleys does he feel he had to support Swansea?

Was it just your knee that hurt when you woke ?
