' UPDATE ON STEVEN CAULKER '

As you know Steven Caulker has recently been looking at houses in the Liverpool area.

Well yesterday I believe Caulkers agent could not agree personal terms with Liverpool and his demands were so suppose to be way over the top with loads of clauses, of course all in favour of Caulker.
The deal is suppose to be dead in the water, but in this world you can never say that.

It was supposedly Liverpool who ended the meeting as they felt it was going no where.

Everton via the media have denied any interest in Caulker so far.

Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Swansea and Southampton among other clubs looking to sign the Cardiff ace, but could Swansea and Palace afford him?

He probably expected a 11 month loyalty bonus

I don't mind him staying but I would rather we sold him earlier.

Nonsense. He would be excellent in the Championship.

True but that's 8m and a big wage you have playing for you, that sort of money be used better.

My worry is, more so with medel is that if they become average in the championship you end up with a player not with much and I'm big wages.

The championship's littered with players like those. It's a real worry.

I agree. I would prefer him to leave because he his one of our highest earners and his agent sounds like someone who will try and get every clause under the sun inserted into his contract, so who knows what other deals he has in his current one?

Best to get rid now while his stock his pretty high. If we stay down next season then his value drops drastically but his wages will remain high.

Or perhaps he would help us win the championship

Personally I would say to him 'sort your move before your loyalty bonus or your not going anywhere'

Im sure he would but should a championship club really have a 8m defender. Thats close on what Malky spent to take us up.

If Caulker has cocked up a move to Liverpool, he's an idiot. That club is on the brink of another great era, as much as it pains me to say it.

f**k the money grabbing b*stard we don't want people who don't want to be here an he's one of them! He's just waiting for his big pay check! Cala with suprisingly loads of passion for the club will take his place alongside turner with Hudson as backup!

Best of luck whatever happens, has the potential and would benefit with an experienced CB guiding him along.

We are the most profitable team in the Premier League of course we can afford him.

However I dont think we would want to spend that much on a center back when we got Chico and Williams for a combined fee of £2.4m.

These English players are overhyped and over priced.

I live in Dorset so well observed, however I am as welsh as Cardiff Castle, the Gower and Windsor Davies, however Ashley Williams is NOT Welsh. Roathy out of interest do you ever sleep, seems you respond to posts any time any day - Very sad for a rivals board.

Yeah good point, our £15m - £20m clear annual profit (after spending £20m a year on players per year anyway) cant cope with Caulker :laughing6:

Don't worry about Medel. He be sold after the world cup. He's not staying after Chilie's performances

Why do people keep saying this? :?

We had great performances in our debut Premiership season, doesnt mean alan tate was then wanted by everyone as a result. Medel has to play well not chile, and so far he has had one good game.

Re: ' UPDATE ON STEVEN CAULKER '

Fri Jun 20, 2014 6:50 am

i think the world cup is definately a shop window, but it does mean we are going to get twice what we paid for him if Chile get to the final!

i'd say anything around the 6m mark would be fine.... would a few good games at the world cup make a team bid higher? no. But it may make one or two more teams have a look at him.
