Defender race still on Queens Park Rangers, Harry Redknapp is closing in on the signing of Cardiff defender Steven Caulker but still faces a battle with Crystal Palace.
The R's boss looked as though he had landed the highly-regarded centre-back, who skippered the Bluebirds in the Premier League last season, but, despite a fee being agreed, no deal has been signed just yet.
Despite losing their top-flight status, Caulker was a stand-out performer throughout the campaign, making 38 appearances and scoring five goals but he could not prevent the Welsh side from being relegated to the Championship.
The former Tottenham player is regarded as one of the finest defensive prospects in the English game and a move away from Cardiff is all but certain this summer, with just the destination left to be confirmed. QPR are favourites but Palace are hopeful they can persuade the defender to come to Selhurst Park and Tottenham and Liverpool are also still keen.
