MOTM v Coventry City (a)

Decent win, but who's your MOTM? :ayatollah:

As usual, 24 hours to vote.

Kenwyne Jones leads the charts with one vote so far.

Maynard constantly looked a threat for me. Daehli looked great when came on, very dissapponted with kim though.

Toss up between Gunnar and Maynard, but went for Gunnar in the end. Played a number of different roles and did well in all of them. Decent captain if you ask me

voted Barnum-bobb just because of his name

Connolly for me (again). Had a flawless game, except for that long ball at the end that passed his head with an inch. Ralls impressed as well, but a minus for his set pieces. Decent run by John, and Eikrem was ok, but nothing spectacular. Burgstaller was good the first 30 minutes, but faded a bit as the game went on. Bobb could be a great prospect. One day he might find someone with his crosses.

Daehli at first looked like having a bad day at work, but pulled himself together and deliver a strong finish. Harris was fresh. Man for the future.

Kim had a terrible start, but was a lot fresher in the second half on the right wing. Looked like a treat.

A bit disappointed by Maynard, and Theophile is obviously not a CB (lost most of preseason though). Not much for Moore to do, but his bad deliveries suggests he´s not quite competing with Marshall yet.

Gunnarsson to be sold.

I went for Barnum-Bob unlucky not to be played in by KIM a lot, made a lot of runs, looked to get the ball in the box. :ayatollah:

Eikrem had my vote. Perfect pass to set up the first goal - held the ball up well and controlled the pace of the game. Also i don't understand the hate on gunnarson - thought he played his role well - helped maintain order among the team. Seemed a decent captain actually.

Thought ralls put on a stronger performance than eikrem. Deserves to be on the bench against Huddersfield. Eikrem had some good moments early on but felt he faded and started making mistakes towards the end.
Kim has a lot of talent but his desicion making is very bad. He is so frustrating to watch because you just feel there is potentially a very good player in there.
Gunnarson for me has to do better, he is so anonymous apart from when he gives away posession.

Agree with all of that, except I thought Eikrem and Ralls were on par.

I only watched the 2nd half as I was in work for the 1st half, so based on what I watched Daehli was pure class :ole:

Eikrem was alright and kept the possession well. I just wanted to see more of his passes going forward instead of going for the safe options all the time. I thought Ralls had more of offer with this forward runs (different roles, of course, but..)

I don't hate Gunnarsson, but he just gives away possession too much. And possession is what we (Ole) want to keep. With all the injured players back (read: Dikgacoi) pluss the new signings, I can't see him starting much. I'll not be surprised if we see him playing somewhere else before September 1st.

Blame the lack of runs. After 30 minutes, Burgstaller was pooped, and Maynard joined him in the Styx of fitness after 45.

Eikrem made zero mistakes, it's what counts. In contrast, Ralls wasted some very good attacks on long shots, whilst Gunnarson played shit all game. The only long shot Eikrem made was due to a frustrating lack of options ahead of him. Eikrem was the only midfielder playing well all game.

Maynard played 90 min on Saturday too so I guess he had an excuse. Burgstaller just looks as if he isn't fit yet.
Maynard did very well to hold up eikrems pass before burgstaller goal.

Good to see such a mix of votes other than ralls looks set to win. Thought a few of the youngsters put in a good performance and hopefully get another run out vs port vale and can build on yesterday's performance.

The only thing missing from Joe Ralls performance for me was a goal.

Not sure if i agree with that. There were several situations where he had options forward if he just moved the ball a bit, and he did actually make a few bad passes (3-4). But absolutely a decent++ game from him.

I thought that Barnam-Bobb was outstanding. Looked very comfortable and made some very impressive overlapping runs. Kim Bo just didn't seem to put enough balls out to him. I was surprised so see him get taken off - Especially for a winger who slotted in at right back...

Kim Bo was the worst player on the park in my opinion. Very impressed with Eikrem, Gunnar & Ralls. Maynard chased every possible ball and Connolly was strong but Simon Moore needs to work on his kicking.
As usual though, the opposition keeper wasn't tested enough. The majority of our shots were fired straight at him! - Anyway, we are through to the next round so it's all good

This seems to be the common opinion, and judging the first 30 minutes, I agree. But his second half was ok, don´t you think? I think he had quite a lot to offer on the right wing, very much involved in attack.

I don´t claim that this is the case with you, but the human brain seems to work the way that we make our decisions early on, and then we try to fit all new information into the picture we´ve already got. Let´s say a player had 10 involvements, the first 3 was bad, the last 7 was good. I´m pretty sure we would be slaughtered by most. Put the other way around, starting with 7 good involvements and ending with 3 bad ones, he would be praised by most. See what I´m getting at? This also explains why objective statistics sometimes seems to chock people.

I thought kimbo was better earlier on in the game but as the game wore on he just didn't do much, especially if you compared him to others he just kept wasting chances or positions I felt.
