YES FOR MORRISON, NO FOR PILKINGTON

Fri Aug 15, 2014 9:57 pm

Sean Morrison is eligible to play against Huddersfield.

Anthony Pilkington is not though.

Confirmed by the club tonight.

Would have preferred it to be the other way round really. The team lacked width at Blackburn and Pilkington even from the bench would have provided that option. He'll be a good option against Wigan.

I'm sure I read on here yesterday that pilkington had signed and just needed unveiling today. Seems that wasn't true then.

Pilkington was here a good 24 hours before Morrison. What went wrong?

We could have done with a winger, the central defence would be okay for another week.

I'd throw Kadeem Harris in there tomorrow. :ayatollah:

Also believe that Harris will play a part in the game tomorrow.

Doubt that Morrison will be thrown straight in when Hudson, Connolly and Cala are available.

He'll need a few training sessions to get an understanding with his defensive team mates.

So Pilkington won't be eligible and Morrison won't be thrown in without having had any training sessions with the squad - so no positive impact there from our new signings.

My other worry is if Ole starts with Gunnarsson, Whittingham and Jones together. I feel those three collectively don't do enough work to close down the opposition. We can get away with one or two of them in the team at the same time but I'm not so sure about all three. I don't think Gunnarsson should start anyway.

Would be surprised if Morrison play from start today. Pilkington in his wide role is more likely, imo (if eglible). Hopefully we'll see Eikrem play deep in midfield instead of Gunnarson - Ole should field a more posession-oriented team than against Blackburn. CCS should be a fortress and hopefully we'll run the game against Huddersfield. Could easily see Jones being used more in away-games, but I reckon he'll start today with the injuries up top. Cala and Hudson will start at CB, I think.

Marshall
Brayford Cala Hudson Fabio
Pilkington Eikrem Whitts Daehli
Le Fondre Jones

If Pilkington isn't eglible, i'll say Daehli out right and Burgstaller out left. But Ole love those out-wingers so we'll see.
