' Tony Pulis refuses to rule out Cardiff City move '

Monday 15th Sept 2014.

Frustrated Cardiff City fans have sparked a clamour to bring in-demand manager Tony Pulis home to lead his boyhood club back to the Premier League.

Thousands of disgruntled supporters flooded social media and radio phone-ins with calls for owner Vincent Tan to act now and replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, pictured, with Pulis, after watching their team squander a 2-0 lead in going down 4-2 against Norwich.

Last season’s Manager of the Year Pulis, who left Crystal Palace after a row with chairman Steve Parish, has refused to rule the move out, adding the pressure on Solskjaer.

The former Stoke boss said: “I have lived around Bournemouth and Poole for my entire managerial career, so taking a job in Wales would be a possibility if that situation arose.”

Newport-born Pulis has experience of winning promotion to the Premier League after guiding Stoke City there in 2006/7, where he kept them until leaving at the end of the 2012/13 season. He then enhanced his reputation by guiding a doomed-looking Palace team to safety last season.

But Bluebirds legend Nathan Blake, who is a personal friend of Pulis’, insists the popular manager is destined for bigger things, with Premier League bosses like Newcastle’s Alan Pardew currently looking vulnerable.

Blake said: “I can’t see him coming to Cardiff if it came down to it.

“This is a fellow who was named Premier League Manager of the Year last season.

“That has made him a sought-after individual and my own hunch is that he will want to stay at the top level.

“Come next month, or maybe the month after, I’m sure we’ll see the usual managerial casualties in the Premier League, so my guess is that he will sit tight at the moment.”

he'll only get firefighter roles in the PL IMO. i'd eat my hat if he went to newcastle, he's not a big enough name.

he'd come with weighty salary demands, but i don't think that would deter the club. i think they'll stick with OGS for the foreseeable future personally.

Pulis has retweeted the WalesOnline and BBC stories tonight. I think that means he might be interested in coming. If he wasn't interested, why would he bother tweeting?

Disrespectful. More or less trying to hound Ole out of his job, happy to back Coleman but tout the Cardiff board
