Reports suggested the Bluebirds might listen to offers in the region of £8m for Marshall, but Slade insisted his captain and number one would be going nowhere this month.

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade has issued a firm ‘hands off’ warning when it comes to goalkeeper David Marshall in the January transfer window.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper was a hit in the Premier League last season and has again found himself linked with a move back to the top flight, particularly with Everton who are without the injured Tim Howard for up to six weeks.

Reports suggested the Bluebirds might listen to offers in the region of £8m for Marshall, but Slade insisted his captain and number one would be going nowhere this month.

“Every time a window is open you are going to get speculation. It is inevitable,” said Slade.

“We all know we have a very talented goalkeeper. Is he going to attract interest from the Premier League? Of course he is. Are we interested in letting him go? Of course we are not.”

Slade is expecting a number of players to leave this month as he looks to trim his big squad, but he has also been busy adding to his options as well.

Left-back Scott Malone has signed from Millwall and frontman Alex Revell has also arrived from Rotherham with Cardiff battling to obtain international clearance in time for the big striker to feature against Fulham today.

Revell, who Slade managed at Brighton and Orient previously, is now 31 and has had a career mainly in the lower leagues. Never the most prolific at finding the net either, his signing has led to some questioning Slade’s decision to bring him to the Welsh capital.

Slade hit back at such suggestions and said Revell would prove a valuable addition to the club.

“I understand supporters saying that,” added Slade.

“Allegedly I made quite a few under-whelming signings at Leyton Orient, but I managed to get them to a play-off final and become their most successful manager in 50 years. So leave it with me.”

Whatever Slade said I'm sure Marshall will be off if we get a decent bid.

In some ways I'm very happy with that news, in other, I'll be a little disappointed to not see Moore get his shot. Lovely yesterday to see a keeper coming out for the ball and tha lad has good hands

He may not be an international "shot stopper" like Marshall but he certainly does well and influences controll over his box.
