There should always be a sell on clause where a relatively young player ( I know Rudy wasn't that young when we sold him!) with potential is sold on.

Never seems to have been something our club considered important and has cost the club a fair amount of money over the years.

True but we always get done over! our transfer policy is shit! Ramsey, ledley, matthews to name but a few.

Rudy came to a foreign country as a young lad who was raw and crying out to be coached properly.He scored some important goals for us and then "BOOM" we get to big for our boots and kick him in the gutter.Nice lad rudy,i'm pleased he's doing well for himself as a price tag of 7m clearly shows.

That still gets me. I appreciate we needed to offload players but we could have raked in some decent cash in the January transfer window for those players we mutually agreed to terminate. I don't care that they left. I care that they left for f**k all and we're apparently meant to be saving money!

But doesn't mean he will make it in premier, many have tried and failed who are more consistent than rudy, sometimes players are only good upto a certain level above that they fail! Again club getting blamed not the manager who knows what player is worth and failed in his management of situation.

I thought Rudy did show signs of becoming a very good player. He was very raw and obviously needed lots of game time which he wasn't getting with us. At the time I said he should be loaned out for a season to someone who could give him 80% of a seasons playing time and see what happens. Instead we essentially gave him away for peanuts and with no peanuts to come!

I agree, no indication to me that Rudy was going to come good. Can't speak for Malkey tho. Also, wouldn't a sell on clause be likely to have reduced the 300k fee we had for him ?

If you read my posts on rudy i was not one that rubbished him! He needed time which mm didn't give him, yes sell on clauses should be done as normal practice! But we are talking ccfc nothing normal about us?

Not always fees are subjective and wouldn't thought effect price, as buying club would surely be making profit anyway.
