Tim Howard will leave Everton for MLS side Colorado Rapids at the end of the season.

The United States goalkeeper is returning home after 13 years in England and 10 at Goodison Park.

Howard, 37, has lost his place to Joel Robles in recent weeks and agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Rapids after discussing his future with Everton boss Roberto Martinez.

Another long-term Toffees target, David Marshall could be the man they turn to this summer, especially if Cardiff miss out on promotion once more. That said, Everton were quoted £10million for the Scotland international in December, according to the Mirror - a fee, you'd assume, they would be reluctant to meet for a 31-year-old second-tier shot-stopper with two years left on his contract.
