" Many are saying that Cardiff City have? "

Many are saying that Cardiff City have under achieved this season?

Even Chris Hughton said Cardiff had such a big squad they were never short of players to choose from and he thought we would be right up there.

Head of Sport (Media Wales) Paul Abbandonato has stated on many occasions we have under achieved this season with the squad of players we have had.

Sometimes I think they are both right, other times I remind myself that Slade has had to sell, loan out, media on his back, fans not supporting him and Vincent Tan as his boss.

Also many times we've had up to four strikers at our disposal and many players who have now had Premier League experience.

So the question is to the City fans have Cardiff City under achieved this season?

I don't think we have under achieved at all, in fact I think we are right where we should be under the circumstances that have gone on with everything this season :ayatollah:
By the way Annis, a very warm welcome to Santa Ponsa to you and your wonderful family and the very best of luck  :ayatollah:

without a doubt yes, we have a decent squad on paper and with a decent manager and less interference from Tan we could be a lot further up the league

Bar Manga and Marshall, who could play in the league above? People just think oh we have Le Fondre, we have Macheda etc, we have a squad when in reality we still don't have an out and out goal scorer. We are just where we should be, spent barely anything this season.

I would agree if we were able to keep the squad together, however I disagree because we all know the costs had to be cut and weren't cut enough which resulted in the transfer embargo (which worked out extremely well for us )

With the positive steps also happening off the field I would say this season has been excellent and still being in the mix for play offs at this stage is a bonus :ayatollah:

Hard one to call
The club should be higher than they are now but the way they are playing at the moment they are not under achieving if they played like this at the start of the season they would be up 4th maybe 3rd. Up until the embargo we were under achieving and doing poorer than a squad of that calibre was capable of

Lots of overrated and overpaid players who slade was ordered to shift and even more off field issues. Anyone who really knows and has been following city over the last few years knows this and imo we've done very well this year, improving continually

while I agree the season starts in August and we weren't good enough pre embargo. We have however moved forward.

Lex would be ok in premier league ,becouse he has a footballers brain as well as ability on the ball ,always reads the game well ,that's why he's scored one in two games so far 4 from 8 ,being in the right place .

I don't think so, there are at least six other clubs that feel exactly the same as us, that they have a good enough squad to be getting in the play-offs. Look at the money Middlesbrough and Derby have spent, then Burnley and Hull have quality Championship squads with two managers who have got promotion before. QPR had a strong squad at the start of the season but struggled to get going, Brentford brought in a foreign manager and spent a bit of money, Fulham have a strong squad and brought in two of the leagues best known CBs to help them, look at them now. I'd say we're doing well, not fantastic, but very good, under a big name/ego manager there could have easily been frustrations and fall outs over a lot of the sales and lack of funds. :ayatollah:

Right from the start of the season we looked like a team who would struggle to score and that's been our achilles heel. Since January we have been better but still that lingering problem is there.

If we processed that much sort after 20 goals a season striker then we would comfortably have been in the top 6.

Therefore we haven't under achieved as we have carried a handicap all season and that is reflected in our league position.
