' IT IS ANY TWO FROM FIVE '

THE UPDATED POST IS HERE viewtopic.php?f=2&t=170621&p=1795873#p1795873 :bluescarf:

Looking at the Championship table I believe there are five teams looking to claim the last two spaces in the play offs, Hull who are currently in fourth position are just ahead of Derby County by two points but do have a game in hand.

Cardiff City's next match is against Derby and the Rams are one of the sides City are trying to chase down, there is a five point gap between the teams at the moment so with just eight games to go this fixture is going to be pivotal in the play off race, if City win the home match on Saturday they will close the gap to just two points but defeat, I believe, will make it virtually impossible to catch Derby County.

City have to play four of the teams who are either above them in the league or teams who are chasing a play off spot.

On paper Derby's run in is probably the most difficult in that they play five teams from eight games against sides either above them or challenging them for the play offs.

I have listed below each of the five teams I believe are challenging for the final two play offs spaces, with their opponents highlighted in red if they are currently above them or challenging for a play off spot.

Saturday's fixture at home to Derby is massive and the importance cannot be understated, Derby will want to avoid defeat at all costs but City know with games running out, at this stage of the season they must win their home games no matter who the opponents are.

There are some really interesting fixtures amongst the ones listed below and shows City can claim lost ground over their play off rivals with wins in the right games.

The teams inside the play offs goal difference is much better than the 3 outside, I think if we lose against Derby its down to 6th place up for grabs

If we beat Derby I think we will end up taking their place with Sheffield Wednesday also getting a play off place

Saturday definitely a big game. Lots of teams having to play each other. I hope we can get a positive result Saturday. As mentioned above goal difference is virtually an extra point we need to make up

I was going to say more or less the the same.

For me it's any two from three with Wednesday having the easiest gamesI think they will take one

It will then probably be between us and Derby who have the toughest run in.

Win and we will make the playoffs, lose and we will miss out, draw and its up in the air IMO, what an important game this is !!!

I dont see us making it. We have let too many points slip this year to warrant a place. Would be guttng to just miss out though, even though I see it happening.

We have a real shit run in too, thats another reason.

Huge game and a win needed but a draw would not be a disaster either with games still to come.

I think we will take the final place with Sheffield Wednesday, today was a great win, we looked much more of a TEAM than Derby, they are fighting for each other and not letting teams bully us like Derby tried to do.

You can see in the celenrations we are a TEAM, Slade is doing a good job fair play, he inherited a split squad of individuals, and built a team while slashing the wages, well done Slade and his back room staff and all the team :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
