' LATEST NEWS ON RUSSELL SLADE '
I've been told the new manager of Cardiff City will not report to Russell Slade and Slade himself has been moved to distance himself from wielding any influence over the first team next season.
In fact Slade will have virtually nothing to do with the first team, other than be Vincent Tans eyes and ears and give Tan daily reports.
Personally I see it as just a bit of thank you job from Vincent Tan for clearing up the mess that City were in and don't forget Slade is not expensive.

Annis, I don't believe Slade will be in that job for very long and the club know that. As you say, it's probably a "thank you for all the cost cutting, you can stay but in a lower job."
Slade, at the end of the day, is a football manager. So if a League One/lower Championship club approached him to be their manager then I think he'll take it.

If that's true sounds to me like VT trusts Slade to give him truthful info more than Choo & co.

No I see it as just a Thank you.
Tan really trusts Ken Choo above anyone at the club.

Slade won't last long, he will get a managers job offer elsewhere and will be on his bike.

I dont think he is weak, he endured many months of abuse from the stands, to eventually gaining the respect of the majority. A weak man would have run away a long time ago like solskjaer did.

I agree with Wez and Mr Shed.
We have moaned about wasting money
We have moaned about no football man.
We have moaned about youth policy
Trouble with slade is his lack of charisma to be front face manager.
He may be a wise choice to keep up with FFP rules whilst building to challenge again.

No I don't agree mate.
You say 'many months of abuse from the stands'? I didn't see much at all. People moaning about him, shouting out some remarks etc is all I saw and heard. The ground was hardly flooded with banners and constantly singing anti Slade songs. Most of the abuse came from on here and some anti Slade reporting from WOL.
For someone like Slade who's been knocking around the lower leagues after being a school teacher, a hundred & twenty odd thousand a year plus a free BMW X5 and a beautiful free house overlooking the Somerset coast is not a bad deal.
Even a weak man wouldn't run away from that. He just says - 'yes sir' and carries on.
Solskjaer was a little different - he's a multi millionaire for starters.

That's how I saw it as a thank you as Tan got on well with him but knew he wasn't quite up to it and created a job for him to thank him

I think that as Tan appointed him as he didn't trust anybody else after Malky and Ole, he didn't want to sack him as it would look like Tan fucked up, this way Tan saves face. I could be wrong though

He`s got a wage for a made up job, I reckon with his new found status as a championship manager he will not be short of offers for manager vacancies in the championship and below. This is a golden handshake and I doubt very much he will be cashing this cheque in august. Apparently he told VT that back to blue was the way to go in his early days at the club, so that alone he deserves to chill out and get his agent to do the overtime, while he can mull over his future employment. End of era not a great one but we have had a lot of worse managers in the past, so good luck Russell your work is done
