Vincent Tan wants to see more young Welsh talent in the Cardiff set-up and Richards could fit the bill

Jazz Richards could become the first Welsh signing of Paul Trollope's time in charge of Cardiff City.

The new Head Coach was given a brief by owner Vincent Tan to get more young Welsh talent into the Bluebirds' starting XI upon taking the job, and Richards is a realistic target.

The Fulham right-back is a popular member of the Wales squad after his performances in qualifying, particularly his display in the 1-0 win over Belgium.

For me this is brilliant news.. great player but where does this leave Fabio because i feel as though Declan will start on the left

Fulham seem to have a different opinion on him - it cant be sour grapes with them all

He was a bit anonymous for fulham against us last year, but on the odd occasion Ive seen him play for Wales he played well. Makes me think Trollope may be trying the 3 centre halves formation that Wales use - Connoly, Manga and Peltier as the back 3 with Fabio/John/Richards as wing backs.

Keeping Declan and Fabio and adding Richards suggests wing backs and a more progressive attacking style than we've been used to for the last few years.... Seems like a Wales type system except we'll actually have attacking wing backs rather than conservative defensive minded ones that Wales have
