' CARDIFF CITY'S FEDERICO MACHEDA LATEST '

It is believed that new Cardiff City manager Paul Trollope has been told by senior management to get Macheda off the wage budget and he can even be given a free transfer.

Macheda has one year left at Cardiff and believed to be on £80,000 a month basic wages.

The former Manchester United player arrived at the Cardiff City Stadium with much hype around his head, and Cardiff fans were hoping he could replicate the form from his early United days.

Macheda had, had a good loan move at Birmingham City and had proved he could score in the Championship, for some reason he has failed to do this for Cardiff City.

However, Macheda failed to really live up to his potential, and his scoring record in Wales has been far from impressive.

Last season Macheda was loaned out to Nottingham Forest, but this loan turned out to be a failure.

Top that off with a host of injuries and you can see why Paul Trollope would want to move him on this summer.
Report: Empoli and Crotone hoping to tempt Cardiff City striker Federico Macheda home

Federico Macheda has been back with Cardiff training and the striker does not know where his future lies, he's training mostly with the DVP squad?

This week just gone Macheda played with mostly the DVP at Forest Green where he scored, but I am sure Macheda will want more than this.

My worry is that he'll be happy to sit in reserve football collecting that wage every week. He tends to look as if he lacks ambition.

I don't think they are being victimized at all, on the contrary, what Macheda & Alf are showing is a total lack of professionalism & discipline. Macheda was called the worst loan signing ever by Forest fans last season, & Alf had two opportunities to impress at different clubs, but I dare say his wages were probably a big obstacle too.

What the pair epitomize is the shambolic way OGS, along with other high ranking officials at our club, managed things at that time.
Don't forget that Fabio, Morrison, Pilkington & Manga were also brought in by OGS, with only the latter three or four showing any real desire to play for Cardiff City FC.

honestly thought a new manager and a fresh start for the players. clearly Tan wants them out just because their big earners.
or is it the fact that Trollope was allready here and didnt like their attitudes. Alf done well at Bolton and ran his socks off for us

Who knows whats going on behind closed doors, but my guess is,,,& its not difficult to see that if the two players in question were not required last season, then its obvious that this new season is going to be the same, bearing in mind that they are also in to their last twelve months of their contracts.

I will respect Paul Trollope's judgement on this matter, & on the overall squad, & it will be interesting to see how the other players that OGS brought in will fare this season!

hmm, I think theres a bigger issue here, what if Trollope had a plan for Macheda but it seems the higher ups are making the decision on who goes.

I have been wondering whether they might try to swop these two players for someone, similar to what appears to be happening with Malone/Richards, I did think that Alfie for Bradshaw might have been a decent swop, but no chance now, I know that there high wages maybe a problem, but what about Alfie to Reading for someone perhaps that Russian striker they have, just a thought :bluebird:
