' Latest on Cardiff City's Declan John '

Declan John was the perfect fit for Paul Trollopes system yesterday v Shrewsbury.

Declan started his first match in what seems a long long time ago.

Now Declan needs to be given a run of games, not in and out for weeks or months like Slade did with him.

The formation was a particularly good fit for 21-year-old, who terrorised the Shrewsbury Town defence and was a livewire linking defence and attack.

Declan John constantly drifted in behind the back four making a nuisance of himself, stretching the game and being responsible for setting up a number of half-chances - and the opening goal.

In what is a relatively radical change from the standard 4-4-2 employed by former boss Russell Slade, Declan John in particular had plenty of joy.

The youngster spent a lot of last season out on loan at Chesterfield, who impressed whilst on loan, but a new manager at Cardiff City in Paul Trollope and a new system could spark his Bluebirds career back to life.

What is good for Cardiff City, Declan is not one of the high earners at our club.

Declan could bring more desire and passion to the Welsh side as well :ayatollah: :bluebird:

lets be honest Declan isnt a fullback in a 4-4-2. hes an attacking wingback/winger.
was never gonna fit with Slades tactics

Correct Gareth and we will then get the best out of him :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Certainly will be interesting to see him get a run in the side, but for me defenders must be able to do that job first and foremost everything after is a bonus that's why it worked so well for Wales Taylor and Gunter did the job perfectly but more importantly they were comfortable in defence. :ayatollah:

All of our full backs are more suited to wing back roles .
Apart from Peltiier who can play as one of the 3 centre backs .
Problem is - it's a big risk to switch to it mid season.
That's why it was great to see us line up that way yesterday, you've got to do it in pre season if you are going to change.

A massive positive, which with the players involved yesterday and with Ralls to join in and maybe also this might suit Noone as well, a chance of much more attractive attacking football and more goals.

Can't wait to see it in action .

Cant really see Noone starting this season if we play 2-5-2 as Fred, Immers and Pilks along with two holding midfielders surely would be the starters

If you play 2-5-2 we don't stand a chance,as we'll have a player less!
