Federico Macheda is set for a move to Serie A newcomers Pescara, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report suggests talks between the Cardiff City star’s agent and Pescara’s owners will take place today to define the details of the deal.

Two of Cardiff's Most Expensive Players

Federico Macheda and Adam Le Fondre are both in talks with new clubs.

Both players were pulled out of last nights pre-season friendly to continue negotiations.

Macheda is expected to leave on a free transfer and to seal a deal back in his homeland Italy.

Le Fondre is facing a tougher task departure due to his high wages and City looking for a transfer fee.

Carl, I think that Le Fondre will go for no fee we will get rid just to get him off the wage bill, this is just a city tactic to eventually say to the club he goes to, alright then you can have him for free as long as we don't have to pay any part of his wages

Apparently we will see 2 or 3 more players come in, if these both come of the wage bill ASAP

would love a joey Barton type midfield player and another striker I think the squad is still strong and hopefully Trollope will get them performing to there best

I wasn't impressed when Trollope was first appointed but in fairness he is going about his business in a quiet professional manner.

Get these two off the books..then hopefully strengthen with a couple of players or decent loans and we should have a decent season

city definitely want him to stay and sign a new contract but like I said on another thread he hasn't resigned his lease on his rented house until September 1st he told the renting agent so it's up in the air

Agreed. Definitely amongst the top 5 defenders in the Championship last season!

I would agree with that for his first season. Last season he missed a major chunk through injury and was off the pace for a good few games when he came back into the side - with some real defensive howlers in the mix. I think his standing and value dropped a fair bit. However, I'm happy with that if it takes him off other clubs' radars and keeps him with Cardiff. When he is fit and focused he is very good.
