' I FOR ONE WILL MISS HIS PASSION/SKILL & ATTITUDE '
GOOD LUCK Fabio Da Silva.
Cardiff City today Sold Fabio Da Silva to Premier League club Middlesborough for £2million.
For me personally a big mistake by Cardiff City selling him, a backwards step.
One of the most exciting players Cardiff City have ever had.
In my opinion for the last year they have made him feel unwanted.
It also for me shows we have No ambition this season, yes I am hurt by the sale of a player like Fabio.
It will be very very interesting what Cardiff City do with the £2million.
Fabio go and shine in the Premier League and for me that shows you were a far better player than many appreciated

I dont think he would be a as big a miss as if we lost Marshall, Manga or Connolly but certainly was a very good and committed player for us. Most probably wasnt the best defender at times but his heart cannot be questioned. Will surely need some kind of replacement if our wing backs are going to be a large part of our play this year and also with Peltier moving to a CB role.
Lets use his wages and transfer fee towards bringing in a RB and a goalscorer and we have as good a shout as everyone else challenging for the play off spots.

Annis he did say that he was going to run his contract down this season, probably after City offered him a new contract on lower wages
Wed Aug 10, 2016 4:13 pm
anything officially that he's gone yet ? wasn't his release clause 2m and it's his choice to go ?
Wed Aug 10, 2016 4:16 pm
Well, I blame you Annis!
You've always been asking for Declan John to be given his chance, and now he has been, then he has pushed Fabio out! Both are left wing backs competing for the same position. If it was YOUR decision to keep ONE of them, who would you keep?

FROM FACEBOOK
Blaine Lewis Bad one to loose !!
Philip Smith Good luck Fabio and thanks you always gave all with heart and passion
Stephen Baker Gutted but £2 million for a guy who probably wouldn't have signed a new contract by the end of his contact (end of this season) is good business in my opinion!
Aaron Brewer Gutted to be honest! Always gave 100 %
Andrew Owen Shame hes a class player
Vince Alm Good player bit injury prone hopefully his wages off the bill will mean a new face coming in; Striker or driving midfielder with pace
Steve Close Who sorts out these price tags on players looks like we are gonna sell all our players at a 2 million pound price tag
Alun Jaffa Griffiths Gutted
my daughter going to be gutted ...
Christopher Perham ·
should be 5mil any day when he's fully fit .
Kieran Jones ·
With only 12 months left it's a good deal. Had his injuries but always put 100% into his game. Let's hope the majority of the £2m goes into a striker. We should look at one more attacking midfielder and one striker if we hope to go anywhere this season.
Michael Ward Always enjoyed watching him play for us would have been perfect for trollopes new formation, oh well, hope we get a couple more players in
Ry Stephen Francis Sonley ·
great signing 4 us

Never used properly by City...good going forward but an awful defender...he loses concentration too easily so will probably never improve as a defender.
Be interesting to see how Boro use him..pretty sure it won't be as a full back..
Wed Aug 10, 2016 4:19 pm
I don't think anyone can question Fabio's attitude Annis, & he will probably go down as OGS's best signing,,,,but that in its self, is a testimont to the huge pile of shit our club has ultimately become.
It begs the real BIG question, what real business plan did Mehmet Dalman have, when he,,,almost single handily, employed him??
Wed Aug 10, 2016 4:20 pm
Absolutely gutted that picture speaks volumes of what type of player he was for us.we haven't had such a commited and passionate player like Fabio in years he's gonna be missed
Wed Aug 10, 2016 4:22 pm
Who the f**k they go going to sell next? no ambition
Wed Aug 10, 2016 4:28 pm
Really loved watching Fabio play yeah he could be erratic but always got back to recover his mistake and you could never doubt his committment, I think he will be a big miss. But I wish him all the best with Middlesbrough.

Totally agree! But the chance of playing premier football or championship on lower wages there's only one outcome! Hopefully bring in a decent striker but for today's 20 goal a season striker you need at least 7 mil

Last year of contract £2m quid - no brainer!

Exactly, Trollope even hinted that the players head was turned, people saying we're showing no ambition but if the player wanted to go what are you supposed to do? Let him run down his contract and go for nothing or cash in now? 2m is good business.

At the end of the day 2m for a player in the last year of his contract that quite frankly was a poor defender on 25k a week. Excellent result. I do not blame tan or the club here. The player had the clause in his contract and city are effectively saving more than enough 3 million on wages and the fee.
Personally I don't give a shit about getting to the premiership. I love the championship and happy where we are. Our club is moving closer to financial stability year after year playing younger players with potential.
Why the fuss lots of us wanted this! Good luck fabio will get a great reception when we see him next.
Bring on rovers. Old stool ground here we come

Although it would have been nice to see how fabio would have done as a wing back. Perfect for him as extra defenders to cover his lapses.

'Old stool', I know it's a bit of a shit hole, but would hope that any old crap would have been cleaned up!

You'd have left him go at the end of the season for nothing instead? Sounded like he wanted out too.
2 million is good business. People can't blame Cardiff for everything, can't blame Fabio for wanting premier league football either.

Not blaming City at all you make some good points all I hope he's going to be playing every week

Good business by club what are they suppose to do offer him more money that's if he even wanted to stay!! now people will use it as an excuse for low crowds because lack ambition ect ect
Wed Aug 10, 2016 6:23 pm
I may be in the minority, but I agree with the club on this. Good to get £2m for him, while we still can.
He was good going forward but made a lot of mistakes defensively. I can see why he was a fan favourite because of his "passion". But that passion could also be described as stupid tackles. Lucky not to be sent off more than me was.
But, I'll admit, going forward he was a good full back. Wish him luck at Middlesbrough.
