Some injury doubts for Cardiff City's game away to Rotherham tomorrow

Some bad news, but a boost for Stuart O’Keefe

A Few doubts - Kadeem Harris missed a couple days training (ankle ), Gunnarsson missed a bit with his calf. Gounongbe took a bad stud to his Achilles on the weekend, so got quite a few doubts, especially in attacking areas. That’s what the squad is for, if people are missing then opportunity knocks for others.

Joe Bennett is working hard to get back to full training, calf not settled down as quickly as we thought, he should be in squad training next week, but not expected to play till mid October.

Stuart O’Keefe - he’s been training fully for 10 day/2 weeks so he’s in contention.

Anthony Pilkington a major doubt for tomorrow

Cardiff have a host of injury concerns ahead of the game tomorrow and Cardiff manager Paiul Trollope will have to wait till tomorrow morning to assess a few City players.

Anthony Pilkington has missed a lot of the week, it’s a muscle issue in his thigh and he’s being assessed this morning, Fingers crossed with him, he could potentially play tomorrow. It’s a big fingers crossed, though, He’s a big player for us so missing him would be a blow, but it will give someone else a chance.

Team News :thumbright:

Stuart O’Keefe is back in training after a broken arm and is set to return within the next week, meanwhile new signing Joe Bennett remains out for up to two weeks with a calf injury. Cardiff will likely stick with Ben Amos between the sticks but Bruno Ecuele-Manga could be recalled to the defence.

Cardiff City Star Anthony Pilkington went off on Saturday against Leeds United with a thigh injury.

Its not looking good and at this moment in time as Pilkington will be missing for next Saturday's away Championship League game at Rotherham United.

Cardiff City who have trimmed back their squad due to their financial problems are bottom of the Championship and already still without new signing Joe Bennet due to his injury he sustained at Aston Villa and Stuart O'keefe still only doing light training after his injury can not afford for their top scorer Pilkington to be missing.

Rothernam

Rotherham United Football Club, nicknamed The Millers,[1] is an English professional football club based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, that competes in The Football League Championship, the second tier in the English football league system.

Founded in 1925 as a merger between Rotherham Town (1899) and Rotherham County (1870),[2] the club's colours were initially yellow and black, but later evolved into the more traditional red and white.[3] Rotherham United play their home games at New York Stadium, a 12,000 capacity all-seater stadium, having previously played since its foundation at Millmoor for 101 years. Joining the football league back in 1925, Rotherham spent the first 25 years of their time in Division Three North the lowest level of the Football league finally gaining promotion to Division Two at the end of the 1950–51 season.[4]

The Millers featured in the inaugural League Cup final in 1961,[5] and won the 1996 Football League Trophy. They have also achieved two separate back to back promotions in 1999–2001 under Ronnie Moore and 2012–2014 under Steve Evans.

New York Stadium

Image

After spending four years at the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield, the Club have returned home to Rotherham. The new stadium, which cost in the region of £20m to build, is located close to their old Millmoor ground where they played for 101 years. The area of Rotherham where the ground is located is historically known as New York (hence the stadium name) and is built on the site of the old Guest & Chrimes factory. Set beside the River Don, the stadium from the outside looks far larger than its 12,000 capacity and is quite striking in its design. It is totally enclosed and all seated.

On one side is the Eric Twigg Foods Pukka Pies (West) Stand. This is the largest of the four single tiered stands. It is unusual in so much that the middle seated area of the stand is situated at a lower level than either of the wings. There is an executive area above this with seating outside and yet further above is a television gantry, set into the red paneled wall. The other sides of the stadium are much smaller in size. Both ends are virtually identical, except that the Mears (South) Stand has a small electric scoreboard situated at the back of it. On the remaining side is the Ben Bennett (East) Stand, which is slightly less taller than both the ends. This simple looking stand has two large areas built into the front of the stand for the use of disabled supporters. There is a large video screen situated in the North West corner.

The most interesting feature inside the stadium is the roof. This descends down from the West Stand over the ends is large 'steps' eventually meeting the East Stand. A large amount of transparent perspex has been used in the roof to allow more light to reach the playing surface and improve their overall look. On the roof of the East Stand are two futuristic looking floodlight pylons that are supplemented by a row of lights above the West Stand.

In November 2014 the stadium was renamed the AESSEAL New York Stadium in a five year corporate sponsorship deal.

2-0 to Rotherham. I'd put money on it. In fact I have because whenever I put money on Cardiff they lose. Which in this case is a forgone conclusion.I'm still travelling though. :bluebird:

I would love to see us win

However if you can't score we will never win and that my gear.

This is not a criticism of the strikes as it's the whole team who can't play to score.

C'mon City let's move forward.
