' LATEST NEWS ON CARDIFF CITY'S NEW SIGNING '
Joe Bennett is expected to return to training this week
but the Derby and Burton games are likely to come too soon for the former Aston Villa left-back who made 30 appearances for Aston Villa in four years.
Cardiff City Signed Joe Bennett just before deadline day on the 26th August 2016 on a Free and believed to be on £15,000 a week wages. But unfortunately Joe Bennett was still recovering from an injury and so has yet to make an appearance for the Bluebirds.
It is hoped that Joe Bennet will do full training during the International break and make his debut for Cardiff City on the 14th October against Bristol City.
A lot has been said about the ex Aston Villa player who when signed by Villa in 2012 impressed, but later faded away and was sent out on loan to a number of clubs (44 appearances on loan to them) including Brighton for a season long loan in 2014,then Bournemouth in 2015,then Sheffield Wednesday in 2016.
If Joe Bennett can reproduce his form that made Villa sign him in 2012,then City fans will be well pleased

Good luck to the lad - I really hope he turns out to be a great signing.
But thirty games in four years? That's less than 8 games a season?
Why oh why do we continue to sign players when they are injured? Hopefully he'll make a full recovery and he can start playing regularly but he could just be one of those players who are constantly bothered by niggling injuries.
Waste of money so far. Let's hope he can prove his worth quickly.

30 appearances for Villa,while Villa were a premier league club. 44 for Brighton and Wednesday on loan.
Not too bad plus England under 21 caps.

Thanks - I had forgotten about the games on loan.
Let's hope we can see him in action sooner rather than later.
