The Met said it was the biggest mob of lads they had seen other than England's.

I see myself in one photo and remember that day well, it was surreal to say the least.

Remember the walk from the Pride of Paddington through the town, a window was smashed and it went off a little. Put us on the tube to the ground. Looked down and seen a scene from a film with Millwall and the plod with dogs, helicopters and riot vans and thought someone is going to have it today.

Top lads that day and all stuck together

In my history of following us away since 1978, the 2nd best mob ever. Jacks away on nyd 1980 was the best, still sung about to this day. The Rhondda contingent that day was incredible, no scarfers, 350-400 on the train by the time we got to Porth, no one else allowed on.

Remember it well Phil (Rhondda 1015). I was on Porth station when you lot of darlings came bowling down the valley. 150 plus of us Porth/Trebanog/Ynyshir boys waiting to get on the train. We went back to the old Porth Hotel for a few swigs and got the next train behind you. Happy Days mucka. F.T.J. !!!

What actually went down on that day Rhondda 1015? Before my time. Did the jacks manage to muster any sort if resistance or was it freedom of Swansea again..... :bluescarf:

They did have a good turnout tbh, and on another day against a different mob, they would definitely have done ok. We just had way too many for them, and every time a mob of them appeared, they were soon chased off. The police escort was very poor for our 350/400 on our train, and suited us perfectly, but not the stone-throwing Jacks.
