Bruno Ecuele Manga has defied the doctors’ predictions and is in line for a return to action well ahead of schedule.
Manga was told that his season was over after he suffered a ligament injury in his knee during the African Cup of Nations but he has recovered in just eight weeks.
The Gabonese international is now set for a remarkable return to the match day squad for this weekend’s clash with Ipswich Town.
Manga had been performing impressively for the Bluebirds until his injury and Warnock will wait until he sees the budget for next year before deciding on whether to offer the 28-year-old a new deal.
Cardiff manager Neil Warnock confirmed the news during his press conference:
“Manga trained well, he might be able to go on the bench I hope, we’ll find out today.
“They told us when we initially saw him he would be out six months, his season was finished — but we looked at him and he didn’t look as bad.
“Our scan showed certain things and he’s worked hard at his rehab and all credit to the medical department.”
