The fans have had their say on the worst player to pull on a Bluebirds shirt

The player was signed by Dave Jones


For every 30-yard screamer, there's a howling miss; for every cup final victory, a crushing defeat on penalties.

With that in mind, Cardiff City fans have been asked to vote on on who is their worst ever player in a fan poll on football news website Four Four Two.

And the unlucky individual now tarred with the moniker of Cardiff's 'worst ever player' is... Guylain Ndumbu Nsungu.







The Congolese striker joined the Bluebirds in January 2006 after impressing for Darlington.

But it's safe to say his Cardiff career never get off the ground. He failed to find the net in 11 appearances for Dave Jones' side and promptly left on a free transfer to join Gillingham.

The striker then played for Brentford before returning to Darlington to complete a fairly unremarkable career in English football — but it was his Cardiff career that marked his lowest ebb.

Bluebirds fan Steve Davies-Evans revealed that Dean Gordon, Stephen Bywater, Dimi Konstanpoulos and JLloyd Samuel had made his shortlist, before Ndumbu Nsungu won his vote.


He said: "After much deliberation and a lack of sleep, I ended up plumping for the one and only Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu.

"Dave Jones did some fantastic business during his time at Cardiff, but signing the man affectionately known as "Congo Dave" did not fall into such a bracket.

"The striker (apparently) with an unspellable name was signed from Darlington in January 2006 after he’d scored 10 goals in 20 games for the Quakers. In reality, though, he was better at finding half-time fans’ Bovrils than the back of the net.

"No goals in 11 appearances for Cardiff meant he was released at the end of the season, but he’ll forever remain in Bluebirds folklore... I think."

Cornelius has to be right up there considering his fee. In fact considering we were newly promoted and we smashed our transfer fee on him,he could be among the worst ever premier league signings full stop.

Wow, when you read some of those people listed we really have signed some pants players. However one name I must add is Andy Kerr. Anyone remember him - god he was crap!!

Andy Saville or Craig Middleton for me... Though have to agree Miguel Comminges is right up there as is Bywater and Solomon Taiwo.
