Former Cardiff midfielder appears on MasterchefEx-footballer
Solomon Taiwo who played for Cardiff City from 2009 to 2012 featured on BBC One’s Masterchef this evening.
Taiwo was signed for £250,000 after impressing manager Dave Jones in a 3-1 victory over his team at the time Dagenham and Redbridge.
He was described as ‘a good prospect, a strong player, a good athlete and comfortable on the ball’ by the Scouser.
Cardiff City fans were left amused and shocked this evening when Taiwo made an appearance on BBC’s Masterchef, with even Bluebirds’ legend Kevin McNaughton curious to see if it was the midfielder he once played alongside.
Michael Chopra swiftly replied describing him as one of the ‘worst signings in Dave Jones’ time as manager’.
Taiwo’s last involvement in a Cardiff City shirt was when he came on for Filip Kiss as City closed out a win, beating Southampton 2-1 back in 2011.
Since leaving he has played for a handful of sides, including Mansfield, Luton, Dover Athletic and then with his last club being Cray Wanderers, who play in the Isthmian League Division One North.
Taiwo opted to cook chicken and pasta but it wasn’t enough for him and he didn’t secure enough confidence from the judges on the famed cook show, failing to make it through to the next round.
