The Academy only holds a certain amount of places and there's been loads of examples where a child can't get into city's Academy at say age 8 and then gets snapped up by Swansea. He then develops better than the child who was in his place at Cardiff but at that stage its to late. Childrens development is not an exact science and although experience and good judgment helps it will always require a lot of luck.
The real crime in the past at Cardiff was that our development squad was full off 21/22/23 year olds who had never made an appearance at senior level! I think this is where Bellamy will really make a difference!!! He will ensure any promising talent will get the right experience they need at the right time and I wouldn't be suprised to see 15 year olds playing in our under 23s.

Hope he makes a success of the development system because it really is vital to our future that we bring through as many talented youngsters as possible over the next few years and onwards.
We also need to make sure that the local are identified early enough to stop them being signed up by the likes of Swansea and the big clubs in the Premier League and that we no longer let youngsters like Gareth Bale and Bellamy himself slipping through the fingers of their hometown club.

Bellers talks well fair play, David but for some reason I am not convinced he is the man for the job.
I believe he has to much else where going on to concentrate fully on City, just my strong opinion.

IMO he needs to turn up a few gems sharpish.
