Rowdy Aston Villa fans have been slammed after a video emerged of them "bullying" a young couple on a train after the Blues derby victory.

The footage was captured as Villa supporters celebrated their 1-0 derby win over Birmingham City on Sunday.

But the celebrations have been slated after the fans seemingly began picking on two unsuspecting young passengers.

The man in the couple received most of the abuse as supporters repeatedly placed a toothbrush above his head and sang "he's got a toothbrush on his head" as well as calling him a "w*****".

Children were also present and no train staff were seen during the awkward 3-minute video.

The footage starts with a Villa fan holding the toothbrush above his own head and singing a parody of 'He's Got the Whole World in His Hands'.

He then picks on the male passenger and puts the toothbrush on his head while the group sing and clap along.

But the man - wearing a smart navy jacket and blue shirt - does not see the funny side and slaps the toothbrush away.

His horrified partner avoids eye contact and keeps silent as the yobs film their reaction and laugh at their embarrassment.

The man smiles nervously and shakes his head as the fans chant "he's gonna cry in a minute" and "we all hate Blue scum" - a reference to Birmingham City.

Another fan is seen putting the toothbrush on the woman's head before it is passed along the carriage.

Although clearly comfortable, the couple remained in their seats.

Facebook users were divided in their response to the video, with some calling it "banter" and others accusing the fans of bullying.

Mattie J Kellett wrote: "Listen to you all crying over a bit of banter."

Leigh Curtin replied: "How's this banter? Geezer's with his bird, doesn't wanna be involved. That went from banter to bullying in about 20 seconds! Then screaming 'w*****' in front of a couple of kids!"

Harry Newbrook said: "Miserable people in the world! You only live once, have a laugh!"

Villa 1-0 Blues

David Hall wrote: "I wonder if they would have ganged up on that lad and his partner if that lad had some more mates with him. I doubt it."

AVFC Anne said: "I have no idea why anyone over the age of four would find this funny. Embarrassing and juvenile in the extreme."

Trev Chrissie Malgrat added: "As a Villa fan, I wholeheartedly apologise."

Complete tossers. They showed as much when we went up there last November. Picking on the vulnerable and running scared from anyone who stuck up to them.

A lot of their fans think they're too good for the Championship, there league positions shows otherwise.

Looking forward to next seasons visit to Villa Park already

Totally agree. Our train mob alone was too much for them and it will be the same next season. :bluescarf:

I like Villa Park as a stadium but their fans have proved themselves to be gobby shite-houses.

Same bully boys who ran back into their own stadium once numbers were equal.

Our fans run them into their own ground where the police locked them in behind the gate for safety
