Manga sees his Bluebirds deal expire at the end of the season

Cardiff City defender Bruno Manga could be heading for Turkish giants Galatasaray if Neil Warnock fails in any last-ditch bid to keep hold of the Gabon centre-back.

Manga sees his Bluebirds deal expire at the end of the season with boss Warnock having already admitted he is planning for life without the 28-year-old African star.

Warnock revealed earlier this month that planned meetings over a potential new deal had been cancelled when Manga's representatives failed to turn up.

And Warnock has conceded that Manga's agents are pushing for the former Bluebirds player of the year to make an overseas Bosman move that would likely see the former Lorient man pocket a bumper signing on fee.

Now there are claims that Galatasaray have declared an interest in the soon-to-be free agent as they seek to reinforce their defence.

The Istanbul club are on course to qualify for the Europa League next season with a squad containing the likes of Germany World Cup winner Lukas Podolski and ex-Man City and AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong.

Warnock had said he had not given up hope of re-signing Manga, but said he was already “down the line” on snapping up a replacement.

Manga is known to be one of Cardiff's highest earners and any new contract offer is thought to involve a wage cut.

Warnock's need to balance the Bluebirds budget saw him consider selling Manga in January only for the African Cup of Nations and Manga's subsequent knee ligament injury to end those plans.

But his impressive performances before and after his return to fitness saw Warnock reconsider his position, though stressed his fears of seeing Manga move on last week when he said: “"Bruno tells me one thing, but I know what agents will be like and I don't expect that to be successful.

"If people don't want to play for Cardiff City and if they don't want to put a blue shirt on, then they're not for us."

Manga joined Cardiff on a three-year deal when he was signed from French side Lorient in a £4m deal in August 2014, going on to make 76 appearances and scoring five goals.

As much as I love Bruno Ecuélé Manga. Our defence with Bamba and Morrison has been coping without him.

If we could get a decent profit and get rid of his high wages, we could bring in more players.

Top player but Warnock's recruitment could work for the better. It's a win win situation for me. :thumbright:

He has put in some good performances. Ideal for the shop window for himself.
