People's argument is they wanted to rest players for playoffs so can someone explain why it's ok to field a reserve team last week in a crucial game 14 days before playoffs, but yesterday in a nothing game they fielded basically a 1st team only 7 days before playoffs?
That dismisses the rational put forward here.
Other thing is why are people happy if same thing led to city being relegated?

if it's on the last day, against a team with nothing to play for (like if Huddersfield had done it against us today, Sheffield Wednesday also did it today against Fulham) to rest players for the play-offs, sure

But why Huddersfield did it against Birmingham and not against us I'll never know, what kind of logic is that?! They should have rested players today, not last week.

Their arguement was to give them long rest but even if played last week still have 10days off before playoffs! But instead they chose a game that effected relegation outcome ultimately! That's whats wrong.

And if you were the manager and you believed resting your players was the best possible option for promotion to the premier league, you'd still play those players on ethical grounds?

We would all be happy if we avoided relegation because our opposition had decided to utilise their squad and leave out a few regulars.

No problem resting players if it was possible ! But like said played a reserve side last week against Brum which ultimately effected other team, yet put out a full team against us a week later in a nothing game So where is the logic in his actions Certainly wasn't resting them was he?

But what if our rival played against a reserve team and the result caused us to be relegated? Would fans be happy with the club that played reserve team then? No problem resting players in games that don't matter to anyone only Joe public is conned :occasion5:

If the players on professional contracts then they have every right you clown.

The matter of the fact is don't let yourself get in the position Blackburn did and then the problem is avoided.

It's stupid, over the course of the season teams have lost games and found themselves at the wrong end of the table, the moment a team fields a so called. Weakened side the clubs are up in arms, it's basically a stupid rule stopping a manager pick his starting 11.

If you look at the JPT trophy, as an example, every time club introduce a youth player they get a grant given to them for it, they also get fined at the same time because it's not considered a strong team. Football league clubs play around 50+ games a season, so to be fine for fielding a weakened team is pathetic

Although I strongly disagree with you I can understand your point at why field a weakened side and then a strong side the next game. The answer is simple, the EFL/FA will deal with them now, be it a fine, if they then fielded a weakened side against us also the they could of faced even more severe action like points deduction
