Cardiff City given an answer in their pursuit of reliable Championship defender

Preston North End are adamant that Greg Cunningham is going nowhere this summer, reports the Lancashire Evening Post.
Greg Cunningham was being tracked by Cardiff City and reports were suggesting that the Bluebirds were set to make a move for him this summer as Neil Warnock continues to shuffle his squad and create a promotion chasing outfit.
However, Cardiff have been knocked back in their attempts to sign the Republic of Ireland international, who has four caps to his name.
The Galway-born defender has been a top performer for Preston over the past couple of seasons since sealing a move from Bristol City and he has made 90 appearances for the Lilywhites.
Naturally a left back, Cunningham has filled in at centre back and right back at times when Preston have been short at the back due to injuries.
The 26-year-old is renowned for being dependable and Preston are keen to keep the Irishman at the club this summer.
