Cardiff City's Aron Gunnarsson could be the answer to Nottingham Forest's midfield issues

Nottingham Forest are crying out for a bit of drive from midfield, and the Cardiff man could be the solution.
With summer recuriting for the Championship clubs that aren't involved in play-off duty underway, it seems very likely that one of Nottingham Forest boss Mark Warburton's transfer targets will be a central midfielder.
One thing Forest lack at present is someone who can drive with the ball from central midfield, while also possessing the ability to get stuck in, spray a pass out wide, play it safe and fire one in from distance.
That doesn't come cheap, and the player Forest had that could do that - Henri Lansbury - was sold to Aston Villa in January for £3m, according to Sky Sports, and it's unlikely that the Reds will fork out that much on one player given Financial Fair Play restraints.
This means Forest will either have to unearth a gem from abroad or the lower leagues and hope he can be 100% from the get go, or look around and see what they can get when it comes to value for money - and one man that may be the answer is Cardiff City's Aron Gunnarsson.
The Iceland international is coming into the final year of his contract and while he's an important player for Cardiff, whether he's important enough to risk losing on a free if his contract situation isn't resolved is another matter.
While some refer to Gunnarsson as 'that bloke with the long throw', his game is so much more than that, and he possesses all the requirements needed to slot into that Forest midfield - as someone who can just burst through at speed and make things happen.
If Forest can tie down David Vaughan and pair him with Gunnarsson, with a bit of gap filling in some areas elsewhere on the pitch, they could genuinely be a side that pushes for top six.
