Defender John Brayford became Cardiff's second signing of the 2013 summer window after moving from Derby.
But Brayford endured a torrid time in Wales, making just 26 appearances for the club in over two years before opting to join Sheffield United on loan for the second half of the 2013-14 campaign.
He later joined the Blades on a permanent basis, playing 17 games for the Bramall Lane outfit but then signed a season-long loan deal with Burton in August last year.
Brayford played 34 times for the Brewers this season as they finished 20th in the Championship, just one point above the drop zone.
He has one year left on his contract with Sheffield United.

Always disappointed with Brayford, as I thought he was going to be something special after signing from the Rams
But he never seemed to settle in and I felt he never tried to engage with the supporters. One former player has told me he wasn't overly popular amongst the squad and had an air of 'distance' about him
