What was season ticket prices in 70's, 80,90'

Just curious how the prices compare to what average wage was in thos decades

Off the top of my head I seem to remember paying 200 quid for the 99/2000 season, that one sticks in my mind, it was my first ST as always paid on the day at the turnstyles before that as did most people in those days. Annis is your man for this one, I believe hes always had them going back years

I can't remember exactly how much I was paying when I first started going to Ninian Park, but I still have some of my programmes which were one shilling back then, 5p in today's money. At a guess I would say I was probably paying less than 20p a match to get onto the bob bank because I think I was given a ten bob note (50p) to cover my programme, entry, and grub. Can't remember if that was 1970 or a year or two before.

If your ticket was 20p in 1970 I did a quick calculation that with inflation that 20p would be equal to around £ 4 today assuming you paid child prices and you can now get a child ticket for £ 5 not to much if and increase but for adult tickets the increase has been way above inflation

I bought my first adult season ticket in 1976. It was for the Canton Stand which had wooden benches with seat numbers painted on them. My season ticket cost £18 which was a saving of £3 against pay on the day which was £1 per game. (There were only 21 home games in our division then).
The season ticket came in the form of a tiny book filled with cloakroom tickets numbered 1 - 21 plus a few with letters A - E which could ensure your seat to purchase for cup games. a season ticket would also allow free entry to football combination and Welsh league games.

Ground season tickets were introduced in 75/6 season.
You could only purchase seating grandstand and canton prior to this.
I've had a season ticket every season since then.

tends to go up and down then up again.....
Rick Wright introduced pay as you win..well was called something like that in 90s. £5 if top 2,,,£4 top 6..or 3 quid otherwise.
payed over 400 quid the first year after relegation to this div..canton. now same seat is 300.

I think I paid about £75 for a grandstand season ticket in the 70's.

It was 50p for an under 16 to get in on the day early to mid 70s.

Season tickets for the Grange End were £20. An average weeks wage.
