Advice - Amsterdam

Wed Jun 07, 2017 10:00 am

I'm heading to Amsterdam in September for the weekend and I was wondering if anyone has stayed in the Vondel Park area.
I've booked Hotel Blyss and I was wondering if anyone has stayed or seen this hotel.
Just wondering how far away this is from the central station ( walking distance, tram or taxi )

Cheers :thumbright:

I've stayed at Vondel Park many times, either in The Park or The Marriott.
I haven't seen the hotel you mention soc an't really comment.

From the main gates of the Park your are a 2 minute walk for Leidzeplein which is a very lively area with bars, restaurants (like Wagamama and The Hard Rock) and the casino. It's about a 15 minute walk (past the flower market) from there to the Royal Square. From there it is another 10 minute walk up the Damrak to get to the Central station.

In total you should be able to walk from your hotel to the station in 25 minutes tops providing your hotel is at the Leidzeplein end of the Park, which is where most of the hotels are. The area around Vondel Park is very nice, a little more refined than staying near the station, and close to many of the museums.

Enjoy your trip!

I've been roughly four times previously with my mates but my girlfriend wanted to go this time.
I'd normally stay right in the thick of it in a cheap hostel but i've opted for the less cheaper option this time!
Thanks for the info Mcnaughty :occasion5:
