Emyr Huws has emerged as a summer transfer target for Lee Johnson


Bristol City are one of several clubs said to be interesting in Cardiff City midfielder Emyr Huws.


The Welsh international is being monitored by a number of other clubs including Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to the Daily Mail.

Huws spent last season on loan at Ipswich, where he scored three times in 13 league appearances.

The 23-year-old came through the youth ranks at Swansea City and Manchester City and made one senior appearance for the Citizens in the FA Cup in 2014.

Huws had loan spells at Northampton Town, Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic before he joined the Latics on a permanent deal in 2014.

After struggling for game time at the DW Stadium, Huws joined Huddersfield Town on loan in the 2015-16 season where he scored three times in 30 appearances.

He caught the eye of Cardiff, who signed him last August for an undisclosed fee, but after struggling for playing time, he went out on loan to Ipswich in January.

Now, Lee Johnson is eyeing a move for Huws, who has been capped ten times by Wales, as he looks to strengthen his midfield for next season.
