Rhys Healey

Is Rhys Healey eligible for Wales? I ask because he started his career in the Welsh Prem, and FIFA (the sports game) have him listed as Welsh, but I read he was born in England and he has no youth caps for either nation.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything.

I've asked the same question on the boards myself. I will chase it up.

I think he was born in Manchester,he can play for Wales through residency, been resident here for over 5 years. BUT an agreement with the home nations has stopped this, for anyone born in any of the home nations playing for another home nation, unless through family ties.
There have been a load of welsh players who had no links to wales, but were born abroad and held a British passport, which enabled them to play for any of the home nations.

Yeah....I just checked with an official and he doesn't qualify. Shame!

He has a Welsh Mum. My mate said he read it in a Newport County match day programme, when they did a Q & A with him.

Also randomly, Jack Grealish (former Republic of Ireland youth now declared England) could play for Wales due to his Welsh Grandmother. True story.
