Neil Warnock today revealed he is targeting a goalkeeper and a striker in the transfer window ready for the new season and maybe a a midfielder.

Whilst confirming that Cardiff may look to sign a midfielder, following Peter Whittingham’s move to Blackburn Rovers earlier this week.


NEIL WARNOCK:

"We are down the line with two or three and the quicker the better I can get them signed up."


"I'm quite happy at the back so now it's just a matter of getting some more goals signed up to complement the squad."

"It's hard work at the minute. Every club is after strikers and everybody knows certain targets that I've had and they're still on the table these targets."

"But it would be nice to try and get one over the line."

I personally think we need more than a striker and 'maybe a midfielder'.
I can see very little creativity in the squad and one striker isn't going to cure that.

I agree, I think we need more tbh, we need a GK, CM, CAM, W, and a ST. But I'm sure Neil knows what he's doing.

For him to only be looking at 3 more players makes me think either he's happy with what he's got in the current squad or he's seen something in the youth.

We'll know a bit more once they've all had a run out in pre season.

I for one am looking forward to the new season ahead and giving NW and all the current squad and new signings my full support and will make my own judgement on them!

I'm thinking that this makes the winger from Rochdale a potential first teamed and not a bench warmer as I first thought.
Also it seems that we will possibly going with 4-4-2 with Zohore and Ward up top.

Why is it so hard to sign players? You would think if an offer is made and the player/club accept it would be straight forward. Probably down to those pesky agents

It wasn't that long ago when it was trendy to have 4 good strikers in a squad. So yes IMO we probably do need more than one.

He mentioned on a radio wales interview that he is looking at someone on loan to help us save some money, that could buy us another player.

If we are serious about promotion then absolutely.

We still have Saadi so tech we have two so will have 3 if he can get ward over the line plus the Gounogbe and Lambert.

I think he's right I don't think we need to many more and if he can get the perms in for pre season anything we are lacking he can make up from loans and buys if he sells dead wood.

There must be some sort of inkling that Manga isn't a dead deal quite yet.

That was in the days of 4-4-2 though, I think we need 3, one of which that could play wide. So Ward and another.

Yes at the moment we still have Saadi and Lambert...if both were fit and firing (big if I know) add Ward and Pilks if he is still around and that's 5 very good strikers at this level

I'm very happy with the three signings he has made this transfer window. Would love to see a few more additions, and a striker would be high on my priority list, along with a centre midfielder. Not so worried about the wings as Mendez-Laing for Noone is an improvement.
