OFFICIAL " DEFENDER SIGNS NEW CARDIFF CITY CONTRACT "

We’re pleased to announce that Bruno Ecuele Manga has agreed a new contract with Cardiff City Football Club that will keep him with the Bluebirds until the summer of 2019.

Having signed for City in September 2014, Bruno has made seventy-seven first team appearances, scoring five goals. He was voted as Cardiff City ‘Player of the Season’ for his contribution during the 2014/15 campaign.

Speaking to cardiffcityfc.co.uk, Executive Director & CEO Ken Choo said: “We’re thrilled to have secured Bruno’s services for another two seasons and know that he’ll continue to be a fantastic asset for Cardiff City Football Club.

“We see this as another major piece of business for us this summer, building up on those deals that have already been finalised.”

Twenty-eight year old Bruno featured twenty-seven times last season and Manager Neil Warnock feels having the Gabon international tied down for another two years is of key significance.

Neil said: “It’s been quite a long process to get this one done, but what’s been clear to me throughout it all is that Bruno wants to play for this Club, which is the most important thing. I’m absolutely delighted."

Bruno added: "I am really pleased to be continuing my adventure with this magnificent club.

"I would like to thank the Manager and the Board for having trust in me. Now it's time to work towards getting back to where we all want to be."

Things are really starting to shape up, this could be a very interesting season.

If he stays fit, Bruno is a class act. Things are definitely shaping up to be more positive for the season ahead than I thought they would.

Yep, well done to everyone involved, as this would not have been cheap wages wise...but as mentioned we have in fact signed a £2/3 million defender for nothing

Warnock and the board have played an absolute blinder so far in this transfer window...another top class striker (not going to be cheap) and a box to box midfielder and we really are in business.

Be nice if we shifted another couple of thousand season tickets before the season starts!!!!

I have no idea how true that was, however if he has signed a new deal I fully expect that to mean a pay rise. while I am all happy he is staying during NW's promotion push season, a big part of me is worried that yet again, we have thrown caution to the wind and thrown money about, because if this season we don't go up, and these players are still on these wages I can smell trouble ahead

Agree, i don't believe his wages were that high but even if they were, then they wont be now as I have no doubt Bruno wouldn't be with us if he wasn't taking a pay cut because as Warnock said he is the/one of the highest earners here and if there was any deal offered to him it would a deal on reduced terms.

Bamba's contract runs until next summer but the club have already opened talks on a new contract.
