Bit of fun - Fantasy Championship Team

Thu Jul 13, 2017 6:04 pm

Be interesting to see the differences in sides but if you could sign ANY players in the championship for a fantasy Cardiff City Squad who would they be??

RULES: no Cardiff City players, only two players from the same club, must include 4 subs of one per area Gk/Df/Md/St

For me 4-4-2:

Gk- Ruddy -Wolves - solid and ex-England GK still only 30 plenty of life in him yet

Rb-Gunter- Reading - still quality and can't see how the ex city man isn't back in the prem

Cb- Chester- Villa - always rated Chester does the small things well and fussy

Cb- Jansonn -Leeds - stellar for Leeds last season not many better

Lb-Sessignion- Fulham- the guy is only 16/17 and looks like he could be the next big thing and replicate Welsh icon Bale

Rw-Isgrove- Barnsley- always rated Isgrove and see him being a solid decent player

Cdm- Hutchinson - Wednesday- got great pedigree and can slip into the Cb role easily real combative player

Cam- Cairney- Fulham- one of the best attacking player in championship last season and plays by example

Lw- Neves - Wolves- massive massive pedigree and well courted

St- Assombonga-Forest- when fit this guy has it all and is a real handful could easily be playing premiership football

St- Jerome- Norwich- Mr reliable

Bench- Daniels (Barnsley) Shotton (Birmingham) Gooch (Sunderland) Forestieri (Wednesday)

David Stockdale (Birmingham)

Russell Martin (Norwich)
John Terry (Aston Villa)
Danny Batth (Wolves)
George Friend (Middlesbrough)

Ross Wallace (Sheffield Wednesday)
Henri Lansbury (Aston Villa)
Jack Rodwell (Sunderland)
David Cotterill (Birmingham)

Jordan Rhodes (Sheffield Wednesday)
Chris Wood (Leeds)

Luke Daniels (Brentford), Tyler Blackett (Reading), Craig Bryson (Derby), Lasse Vibe (Brentford)

By no means a team packed with brilliant players, but think it would be a solid team at Championship level.
