Gylfi Sigurdsson

Everton had a £40m bid rejected for Gylfi Sigurdsson this week.

The player did not travel to USA with the rest of the squad yesterday as he's "not in the right frame of mind". The Toffees are expected to come back with an improved offer, but Swansea are holding out for £50m.

Everton should offer 50 million but only pay the vermin 2.5 million given Swansea's record of paying 5p in the £.

 It's been nearly 10 minutes now and no sign of Roathie bitting on this one.
Power cut at the asylum or something more sinister?

Hopefully he went for a swim and a saltwater crocodile was feeling hungry

Hopefully they will have told him they want him and to play up and refuse to play, drag it out for weeks to unsettle the team and leave them not sure if he will be there or not, and they will miss out on all the targets they have to replace him.

No rush for Everton they have signed a load of players already, pay what he's worth not what the tramps want.............

Interesting read. I hope they keep him, and he has a stinker of a season.

Having read tbe article you would expect other clubs having same info and more? This smells of typical Swansea move sell at over the odds and try get in reasonable priced replacement so making nice profit so share holders can benefit at end season! Trouble is what effect is selling best players having on the team? Last two seasons have been close run thing regarding relegation wil that trend continue if sell gylfi and possibly llorente as well?

Gylfi wants to go now. His head as been turned.
So either the Jacks take the money on offer, or keep a very unhappy player.
The price will be undisclosed to keep the Jack fans happy thinking they had £50m for him.
Llorente, will follow Chelsea will take him and Mowson will go to spurs.
Close to £100m for them 3 good business for the Jacks who will spend about £15m on their replacements.

Excellent financial business but then being doing same for past 3 or 4 yrs it's only benefiting share holders! as team isn't improving if you look at performances past 2 seasons? Maybe Clements will reverse things let's hope not!! :laughing6:

Ahhh yes but remind us how close to relegation they were 2wks before end of last season? And previous season took a terrific run at end season to pull away! My point was is selling star players improving their performances?

Sides evolve as they always have better players get sold on and new ones come in, thats football . Regardless how close to relegation last season the team came they survived for another season . Clubs the size of Swansea and Cardiff remaining in the PL is an achievement in itself .A terrific run can be at the end middle or beginning does it matter when those points are won ? Lots of teams last season had a good start faded but stayed up , Bournemouth for example .

They didn't have good anything until last 4 or so games but guess staying up for as long as possible is objective of any team regardless of the league! Interesting to see how many leave and who comes in? One thing find interesting is you swans fans never think selling best players every season is a problem and doesn't effect the team! :o

They were all going nuts last season when they looked doomed stating that the constant selling of their best players with average replacements had finally caught up. Doing it again it seems, the yanks and big nose must be buzzing with all this cash flowing in. Investment back already.....it doesn't matter how many millions come in if it's not spent properly? How do you replace a 50 million player like sig with a 5 million replace the and hope he will perform aswell??? :banghead:

That's what it is "hoping" to get suitable replacements At cheaper prices! Been doing it for years tbe players dont get chance to settle before being sold classic was bastone £15m last season hardly got a game loaned out this season! Llorente could go same way! May get £70m or so in sales but at what cost performance wise? :old:

Dangerous game....£40 million shouldn't be sniffed at. He stays and end of next season he's 28 approaching 29, he may have acrap season because he felt the club tucked him up when he wanted to leave and suddenly he's worth a fraction of that 40.

Cheaper can normally be better. How much was Sigurdsson worth last season , probably a fraction of whats been quoted now. Market forces dictate .50 million is a ridiculous amount of money but would Tan turn it down ? A club record bid has been submitted for his replacement and potentially a better all round player for nearly half the money.
