' Idriss Saadi is committed for 4 years to the CASR '

French club Strasbourg confirm the signing of Cardiff City striker Idriss Saadi

Newly promoted Ligue One side Strasbourg have confirmed the signing of Cardiff City striker Idriss Saadi on a four-year deal.

The 25 year-old spent last season out on loan in Belgium and has since been given a chance to shine for Cardiff in pre-season, but the Bluebirds have now decided to cash in.

French news source Foot Mercato claimed earlier today that Strasbourg were chasing Saadi and that they were making good progress in negotiations for the player.

The club then confirmed via twitter that they had signed Saadi, along with a picture of the striker wearing a Strasbourg scarf.

Such a shame, through injuries and seemingly other issues he never really got a chance here.

First bid for him and he was gone, clearly Warnock thought he could useful to us but it never seemed like he thought Saadi was going to be here past the transfer window. If Warnock doesn't think we need him then I trust his decision and now I am sure he will look for a replacement of some type, even if it's someone on loan.

Surprised by this, as he was involved in pre-season.

But we do have other options, and it seems we got paid a fee for him as well as not having to pay his wages anymore.

Good luck to him :thumbright:

Do we know how much the fee was ?

can't imagine his wages were high so this one seems strange after playing in pre season

Steve, I think you will find No one will ever find the real truth on this one and City won't have gained much at all.

Very very weird the whole situation, out of Warnocks hands really and never was.

We should've at least assessed his performances until January. Disappointed he didn't get a chance. I wonder what the fee was

Don't get this move at all, we are quite thin up top as it is and if we get a few injuries we are not gonna have much back up. He can't be on great wages and he definitely knows where the net is

Really wanted to see him given a chance this season, little that we have seen of him he seemed to look decent! Should have sold Fred instead he is utter shit.

I am shocked by this but hope it will make sense if we get another striker in as we are very thin upfront if Zohore gets a knock or a suspension we got nothing as a back up I don't think Ward will be good enough for that I could be wrong and hope I am but this has shocked me I really was looking forward to him playing alongside Zohore

He appeared to impress albeit against Tavistock. This smells a little of desperation by the club. I like others think we are short up front and strikers don't come cheap!

Gutted on this one. Thought the lad would come good here. Scored two in 45 mins and it was said he looked sharp and making good runs. :(

This says to me there's very little interest in any of our players such as Noone & Pilkington. We're stuck with unnecessary high earners still so until they're shifted we have to get rid of those who are considered dispensable.

Unfortunately if we can get a fee for someone who's yet to prove any worth to us, he has to go. Up front in order of quality we have KZ, Tomlin, Ward, Pilks & Healey. We'll have to get in a decent loan or get to January and see how we're looking with what we have.

I don't know why you think that mate, we've had a lot of positive news this summer in terms of new contracts and signings. There might be something we don't know about going on here.

He looked good to me from the little I saw of him. I thought this might have been the year he would make it here, and I am disappointed he has never been given a real chance with us. Good strikers are in demand, and I thought he had real potential. I should think Rydog is inconsolable today.

Warnock didn't want him instead he is putting all his faith in Danny Ward scoring enough goals to take some of the weight of Zahore shoulders,I hope Warnocks faith is not misplaced

It appears the Club are trying to balance the books. Warnock didn't get to see too much of him, and what he did say appeared positive.
