The Northern Ireland international started his career at Cardiff City and had lengthy spells at Aberdeen and Kilmarnock before signing for the Addicks.
An injury hampered his time at Charlton last season but he returned to the side late on and grabbed himself a couple of goals.
Boss Karl Robinson has seen just what an influential figure Magennis can be as he bids to lead and promotion charge in the coming season.

Wales v Norther Ireland Euro 2016 10 minutes to go and Wales were hanging on to their 1-0 lead.
NI last throw of the dice was to bring on Josh Magennis for the last 10 minutes. The Irish hardly threatened the Welsh goal and nothing changed in those last 10 minutes.

Correct. We converted him to a striker and then I think Northern Ireland Under 21's called him up. They couldn't understand why he turned up without his gloves.
