And Warnock has Frenchman Loic Damour at his disposal, meaning there is a strong competition for places in central midfield.

From what I have read, Damour looked very good - albeit against poor opposition so far. Be interesting to see if he plays this evening.

I don't believe there's 'strong competition in central midfield' at all.

Agree, there is not a lot of options there, Tomlin can play there as well but I assume only as part of a 3 man midfield

I don't rate Ralls but I know many do & I think Warnock does so it will be interesting.
