BBC on Peter Whittingham "A Football Tale of Regret"

Fri Jul 28, 2017 8:51 am

Peter Whittingham is by far still the best former Cardiff City player ever and I feel as soon as we get a proper Testimonial for the Legend at Cardiff then we can give him a special reception at the Cardiff City Stadium. I still feel that he deserved a 2 year deal at Cardiff, but I wish the Legend all the best for the rest of his Football career at Blackburn and beyond. :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluescarf:

Out of interest how do you see "best" as? You measuring it on time at the club, most skillful? There's a case for a whole host of players to be called best ever Cardiff player.

Not sure about this Whittingham love in...yes he was a terrific player and good servant and will always be remembered fondly.

But it's about time we all moved on..he plays for someone else now

its what football fans have always done. well and rugby fans. clubs have statues of and name stands after players long after they have gone..

i think apps made..goals scored..period you play in {how much relative success the club has }.other players views .all do come into it..its not about 1 season wonders or what players have done prior to playing here or after leaving here.
he scores high on all. ..for the life of me i dont see a host of candidates..

A good player for us and was here a long time but even without our stars of yesteryear there are quite a number of more recent players who could easily compete with him for the honour. Some people may be forgetting Bothroyd, Koumas, Ramsey, Medel and Kavanagh inter alia played for us in recent years albeit without his notable longevity.

I like whitts, I'll never forget the season he banged in 23 goals in a single season for us.

There's other who I'll remember before him though who were better just not as loyal.

All the best to him at Blackburn, hope he succeeds there.

But why'd does it mean best for America? I understand you're a big Donald Shithouse Trump supporter but I'm struggling to join up the dots!
