Mendez must start the game and we must play 4-2-3-1 and not wingbacks. We have real strength on the wing now and, after last night, Kennedy has to be on the bench.
Rhys Healey “Yeah, he is doing well. It’s frustrating for him, to do so well and get a such serious injury, an innocuous one too with nobody near him. And that’s probably what we’re lacking in the squad at the moment, a Rhys Healey While I’m looking to sign someone, it might just be a six-month loan if I can bring somebody in. Because we’ve got (Callum) Paterson, (Lee) Camp and Healey (long-term injury), but we are short in certain areas if certain main players get injured we are a bit thin. Hopefully I’ll have a chat with the hierarchy and if I can get a couple in - but at the same time I would have to move a couple out to accommodate them.”

Bruce will do his homework, long proven as a shrewd operator at this level. Indeed, whatever happens this weekend, it's a safe bet that he will be earning a fourth Premier League promotion with a third different club come May.
But Cardiff have plenty about them to have their Midlands visitors guessing and hopefully keeping them on the back foot. The options Warnock has worked himself means Bruce can't be sure whether the Bluebirds will start with the three centre-back combination they began at Burton against, or whether it will be the flat back four that finished the game.
Jazz Richards could come in as a second attacking full-back, or Lee Peltier could keep his place to offer an extra sturdy hand. Further forward, Danny Ward could partner Kenneth Zohore for two strikers, or there could be wingers involved. It goes on, but can also include individuals.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has much to prove at this level, but is making a good early go at it, while it will be fair to say they won't know much about Loic Damour. A surprise or two could await.
Villas main striker Jonathan Kodjia, still some way off fitness after breaking his ankle at the tail-end of last season.
It needed veteran Villain Gabby Agbonlahor to get them off the mark against Hull, but Cardiff's centre-backs may well fancy their chances of coming out on top when it comes to the individual battles.
I honestly think "we" will get the better of villa tomoz, I watched them against hull and didn't think they looked special (I know it's only one game) but they didn't seem to be very much of a team unit. Every time hull pressed them they made cheap errors.

Andre Green is the only new injury for Steve Bruce as he picked up a groin injury in the victory over Colchester in midweek. The situation will be judged in the morning.
Bruce also gave an update on Mile Jedinak, Jack Grealish and Jonathan Kodjia.
Jedinak is around 10 days away from returning while Grealish is back home recovering after being released from the hospital. They were hoping for Kodjia to return after the international break but he is a little sore at the minute and the club doesn’t want to rush last season’s top goalscorer.
The Bluebirds are expected to welcome back Neil Etheridge, Lee Peltier, Sol Bamba and Kenneth Zohore who all missed City’s win over Portsmouth.
